  • Governance: CPS School
  • K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Overview

Two-way dual language programs aim for a 50:50 balance of English Learners (ELs) and non-ELs in the classroom. Students serve as language models to each other as they acquire the second language. Two-way dual language programs provide instruction in two languages: Spanish and English. Students receive core instruction (language arts, math, science, social science) through a second language with the goal of all students becoming bilingual and biliterate in both Spanish and English.

Notes

Students with current school placements through the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) should check with their school’s case manager to confirm if a placement is needed for the upcoming school year. Non-CPS families who anticipate that their student may require an OSD school assignment can reach out to School Assignment Services at 773-553-1847. Those requiring an OSD placement will receive their school assignment directly from OSD and do not need to apply through GoCPS.
