Overview
Schools with a STEAM specialization provide whole-school integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) programming. In STEAM classrooms, students will: actively make sense of and construct solutions to complex questions; productively contribute to the learning community to support a culture of collaboration, risk-taking, and innovation; and regularly reflect on and communicate their understanding of disciplinary ideas. STEAM programs additionally incorporate arts education into the STEM curriculum.
Scholastic Academies are schools that place strong emphasis on language arts and mathematics, and offer an enriched curriculum in a selected area of art, music, science, world language, or language arts.

Students with current school placements through the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) should check with their school’s case manager to confirm if a placement is needed for the upcoming school year. Non-CPS families who anticipate that their student may require an OSD school assignment can reach out to School Assignment Services at 773-553-1847. Those requiring an OSD placement will receive their school assignment directly from OSD and do not need to apply through GoCPS
